Surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectra of pyridine derivatives adsorbed on iron in 0.1mol/L solution at pH=3.4 were measured using an activated silver electrode covered with an appropriate amount of electrode posited iron. Since bands at 220cm-1,250cm-1 and 240cm-1 in the SERS spectra of pyridine derivatives on iron were, assigned to Fe-N bond, it was concluded, that the derivatives molecules were chemisorbed on the iron surface by the formation of iron-nitrogen coordinated bond inhibiting the corrosion of iron metal.
