内蒙古大学图书馆创建于1957年10月,是新中国成立之后,我国少数民族地区率先建立起来的第一所综合性大学图书馆。2009年,28000平方米的南校区图书馆建成并投入使用,馆舍总面积达到44000平米,进入跨越式发展阶段。2014年10月至2015年10月,图书馆经过一年多的内涵提升及环境改造工程,服务环境和服务设施又得到了改善和提高,南北校区图书馆阅览座位3404个,分别建有多功能学术报告厅,可承办各类大中型国内外学术会议。到“十二五”末,全校已拥有印本文献310万册,
