This paper introduces the wear test of the brake assembly composed of the brake hub of oil drilling rig and different types of brake blocks under the simulated drilling conditions. Through the microscopic analysis of the worn surface, the wear mechanism of the brake hub and brake block are discussed respectively. The research and development of non-asbestos brake blocks are pointed out
