张思中同志是华东师大一附中高级教师,二十八年来,他始终坚持外语教学改革,在实践中总结出的十六字外语教学法——“适当集中,反复循环,阅读原著,因材施教”取得显著效果。他培养的学生大多数能达到一门外语基本过关,到高中时能阅读一般的俄语原版著作。《人民教育》1965年第六期、1981年第十一期先后两次报道过他的外语教改情况,给予很高的评价。张思中外语教学法不仅适用于俄语教学,而且也适用于英语教学,可使不同层次学生的外语水平都有较明显的提高。他的“十六字外语教学法”得到了国家教委有关部门的肯定,并开始在相当一部分区县推广,都取得了可喜的成效。
