When the construction machinery is being repaired, it is often necessary to replace all kinds of springs. Although the number is very small, it is indispensable. Sometimes it is impossible to buy a suitable spring from the market, so it is necessary for the mechanic to make it. Two simple, ingenious and practical manual winding spring methods are now recommended. 1. Wrapping on a bench vise 1. Select a round steel or wire with a diameter less than 10% to 20% of the inner diameter of the spring to make a mandrel rocker shown in Fig. 1. The elasticity of the spring wire makes it possible to enlarge the diameter of the wrapped spring, but it affects the straightness of the wrapped spring.
