The second “International Conference on Hydrogen in Metals” was held in late November 1979 in Japan. 249 delegates from 18 countries attended the meeting, of which 5 were sent to China. At the conference, 167 papers were published (including 4 reports in the conference), the contents of which are summarized as follows: I. The State of Hydrogen in Metals and Its Effect on Metal Properties 1. Is hydrogen in the metal an ion, an atom or an atomic group? Hydrogen Where did the 1s electronics go?
