党的“十六大”对推动我国现代化建设的进程将产生重大深远的影响。全国邮政部门决心认真贯彻落实会议精神,在党和国家的正确方针政策的指引下,加快邮政现代化建设的步伐,肩负起经济全球化和社会信息化赋予邮政的新的历史使命,为促进经济发展和社会进步作出更大的贡献！在祖国现代化建设的伟大进程中有所作为早在1996年,江总书记就对邮政部门题词“发展现代化邮政,满足社会需要”,并在1999年第22届万国邮联大会的致辞中对邮政发展作出了重要指示。邮政独立运行后,全国邮政部门遵照江总书记的题词和致辞精神,开始了建设现代化邮政的探索和实践。
