在丰城县燕山区的一个340多户的湖塘村里,有一所学校——湖塘民办完全小学。它是1956年创办的,发展到现在有六个班214名学生。全校七个教师中,初中水平以上的只有三人,其余四人都只读五年书,有一个还是该校去年五年级的学生。他们的文化水平都不高。校舍又是由破祠堂修建的,设备简陋。总之,他们办学的困难是很多的。但是,在这种条件下,湖塘民办完小却办得很好,学生的道德品质良好,能自觉学习,勤奋读书,学生出席率经常在97%以上。几年来,教学质量不断提高,初小和高小毕业生的升学考试成绩也比较好。学校深受群众的欢迎,去年被评为全县教育先进单位。这所学校是在大队党支部的直接领导和群众的关怀下,逐步发展和巩固提高的。学校校长就是由大队党支部书记余守轩同志兼任,他经常到学校里来,了解学校工作情况,与教师交谈。他不仅及时帮助解决办学中的问题和教师生活等方面的具体问题,更非常关心教师的思想政治上的进步,并大力支
