历史是关于人类社会的经历以及它怎样最终成为已成的模样。知道了过去的社会以及它的进化,会使你得到一条线索,以找到那些运行于社会中的要素;那些推动社会的潮流和力量;那些构成事件的群体及个人的动机和冲突。所以尽管你很难说历史规律存在着自然科学般的规则性和精确性,但却存在着具有统计性质的可能的概括。而文化则是历史的投影。
History is about the experiences of human society and how it eventually became a reality. Knowing the past society and its evolution will give you a clue to find the elements that run in society; the currents and forces that propel societies; the motives and conflicts of groups and individuals that constitute the event. So while it’s hard to say that there is a natural science-like regularity and precision in the laws of history, there is a probable generalization of a statistical nature. Culture is the projection of history.
