Objective To investigate the relationship between the incidence of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and the essential metal elements in the body. Methods The rat model of selective hemispheric (right) PD was used to observe the changes of striatum (ST), cerebral cortex (CC), hippocampal tissue (HP), magnesium (Mg) , Copper (Cu), zinc (Zn) content changes. Results At the 6th, 16th, 26th, 36th, 46th and 46th days after PD exposure, the contents of Fe in ST, CC and HP were significantly higher than those in the left (P <0.01) (P <0.05). In the PD group, the content of Cu in the right CC tissue at 5 time points was significantly higher than that at the left (P <0.05), while the PD at 5 time points The content of Zn in the right CC tissue was higher than the left, but only on the 6th and 16th (P <0.05). The contents of Fe, Mg, Cu and Zn in the ST, CC and HP tissues on the left and right sides of the control group showed no significant difference (P> 0.05). Conclusions The essential metal elements Fe, Mg, Cu, Zn in the body part are involved in the pathogenesis of lesions involving ST, CC and HP in the area of PD.
