日本唯一的甜菜育种机构是北海道农业试验场甜菜部,经过多年的艰苦创业和研究,在设备和育种技术方面都已达到国际先进水平。就育种成就而言,已在高糖、质优及抗病性方面育出了具有较高水平的新品种;在生产上,基本实现了雄性不育和单粒一代杂种化。育种工作的新成就促进了甜菜生产和制糖业的飞速发展。近年来,日本的甜菜产量正以较快的速度增长;甜菜糖的比重已上升到国产糖的60%,并在国际市场上展开积极的竞争,从而引起了世界各甜菜国的关注。本文略对日本甜菜育种工作予以综述,供借鉴。
The only beet breeding facility in Japan is the beet department of Hokkaido Agricultural Experiment Station. After years of arduous pioneering and research, the equipment and breeding technologies have reached international advanced level. In terms of breeding achievements, new varieties with high levels of high sugar, high quality and disease resistance have been bred; in production, basically male sterility and single-generation hybridization have been achieved. New achievements in breeding have contributed to the rapid development of sugar beet production and sugar industry. In recent years, Japan’s beet production is growing at a faster rate; the proportion of beet sugar has risen to 60% of domestic sugar, and actively compete in the international market, which has aroused the concern of the beet countries in the world. This article briefly reviews the beet breeding in Japan for reference.
