农村小学生的阅读现状曾经是令人担忧,他们因长期生活在无人读书的农村氛围中,缺乏家长的有效监督和指导,普遍没有什么课外书,即使有两本,那也只不过是为了应付考试而准备的作文选。即使有两本作文选,也还存在着阅读兴趣不高的现象。他们阅读量少,阅读面窄,不喜欢阅读。但是随社会的发展、科技的创新,使人们越来越意识到学习的重要性。如何改变这种状况了,作者提出了自己的思考。
