This article describes the use of radioactive gas technology in geochemical prospecting. Radon gas halo has been used to find uranium deposits, helium and volatile hydrocarbon gas halo for the exploration of oil. However, gas associated with some metallogenic deposits has only recently been noticed. There are two main reasons: 1) There is a lack of information on the possible release of gases from metallic minerals; 2) There is a lack of analytical techniques to measure these low concentrations of gases found in nature.
