1997年6月4日至7月24日,我应邀赴日本参加“第二十四届日本岩手町国际石雕symposium”活动。“symposium”一词源于希腊语“一起吃酒”,现在从词面上直译为“酒宴;讨论会;座谈会;论集”等意思。在国际上是一种广为流行的雕塑艺术家进行交流、制作和展示作品的现场文化活动。这种交流形式被几乎所有的发达国家所采用。它不仅促进了雕塑家之间的国际交流,同时也为主办的国家和城市留下大量的交流成果。
From June 4 to July 24, 1997, I was invited to Japan to participate in the “Symposium of the Twenty-Fourth Japan Iwate-cho International Stone Carving.” The term “symposium” comes from the Greek word for “eating together” and is now literally translated as "banquet; seminar; seminar; Internationally, it is a live cultural event where the most popular sculpture artists exchange, produce and display works. This form of communication is adopted by almost all developed countries. It not only promoted the international exchange between sculptors, but also left a great deal of exchange results for the host countries and cities.
