This century, cyanide method is the main method of extracting gold from the ore. However, many ores are difficult to handle with conventional cyanidation processes. The main reason for this difficulty is generally due to the presence of carbon, tellurium and sulphides in the ores (especially sulphides of antimony, arsenic and iron). This problem can usually be solved by changing the conditions of cyanide or oxidation pretreatment. The findings presented in this article help to understand the reasons why various gold ores are difficult to handle. Later in this article, a number of approaches have been developed to address this issue, such as intensification of cyanidation, pressurized cyanidation, carbon-leaching and other pretreatment methods (eg calcination, chemical oxidation, autoclave oxidation and bacteria Oxidation) is discussed.
