The writer is the manager of the Senior Planning Section of Rockwell International’s Collins Communications Products Division. This article in his article is divided into two sections to discuss frequency hopping techniques used in future battlefield communications systems. The United States has conducted years of research (Sincgar-V) on fast and slow frequency hopping for the next generation of tactical radios. According to the second issue of this issue, in mid-January, the United States decided to support the choice of slow-jump technology, thinking that Rockwell Collins’s fast frequency hopping system (which has demonstrated success) is too advanced and there is virtually no need to overcome the hypothetical Threats. But Collins’s fast frequency hopping concept is still technically very valuable. The advantages and disadvantages of fast and slow frequency hopping are discussed in the second part.
