Xilinx recently announced the groundbreaking Virtex-4FX family of applications for rapid FPGA-based embedded systems along with the new ML403 development platform. The company said the Virtex-4FX platform enables designers to achieve up to 20x higher overall system performance than traditional software-only methods using an innovative Auxiliary Processor Unit (APU) controller integrated into dual PowerPC processors, a dedicated hardware Accelerated design approaches allow designers to implement faster and more flexible programmable embedded platform designs in a wide range of product applications.
