The United States developed a 1.2 L aluminum CIDI engine. This EFI, aluminum, stud-mounted engine (Diata) is a multi-fuel, clean diesel engine. This engine incorporates a new process for stud bolt assembly, reducing parts and metal fatigue, while its unique cast cylinder liner enhances the aluminum cylinder wall. The engine uses double cams, 16-valve four-cylinder engine power of about 54 kW. When connected to a direct injection fuel system on a common chassis, Diata’s thermal efficiency exceeds 40% and its performance is comparable to today’s midsize sedan engine. Common chassis fuel injection system can be standardized according to different working conditions. Because of its fuel injection nozzle is located in the center of the cylinder, it can improve efficiency and reduce pollution emissions. [Polaroid feed]
