Synthesis of tetrakis (triphenylphosphine oxide) perchlorate complex. The identification and elemental analysis showed that the complex has the formula Ln (ClO_4) _3 · 4PhPO, where Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm and Eu. The crystal and molecular structure of CNd (ClO_4) _2 · 4Ph_3PO] ClO_4 · 2CH_3COCH_3 were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal belongs to the monoclinic space group a = 13.469 (5) b = 19.540 (8), c = 28.437 (9), β = 90.79 (3) °, V = 7483 (5) (?) ~ 3 and Z = 4. Neodymium is coordinated to eight oxygen atoms, of which four are derived from the phosphono groups of the four triphenylphosphine oxides. The four oxygen atoms are provided by two bidentate perchlorates and comprise [Nd (ClO_4) _24Ph_3PO] ~ + Cation, which with the outside world of another ClO_4 ~ - the formation of electrostatic interactions molecules. The solvent molecule CH_3COCH_3 does not bond with neodymium. The neodymium coordination polyhedron has D 2d P 2m symmetry and is an irregular triangular dodecahedron.
