三年前(即1994年7月),德国国务秘书作出决定,为与法国合作,德国的装甲输送车(GTK)计划“只继续研究轮式方案”。至此,关于轮式和履带式的争论暂时告一段落。时至今日,国际环境和安全形势又有了新的变化。因此,德国内部关于GTK采用轮式还是履带式的争论又起。德国《国防技术》杂志就这一问题展开讨论,并在1997年第1～2期发表了一组文章,作者的观点几乎完全一致,都赞成“既要轮式,也要履带式”,主张二者并存,而不主张二者择一,“或要轮式,或要履带式”。现将作者的主要观点编译如下,供读者参考。
Three years ago (July 1994), the German State Secretary decided that in order to cooperate with France, the GTK program in Germany “will only continue its study of the wheel program.” At this point, the debate on wheeled and caterpillar is now come to an end. To date, new changes have taken place in the international environment and security. Therefore, the controversy over wheeled or tracked GTKs in Germany has arisen again. The German Defense Technology magazine started the discussion on this issue and published a series of articles in the first two issues in 1997.
