河南民间剪纸是中原地区具有代表性的乡土艺术形式,既淳朴、自然,又典雅、俏丽。在漫长的社会发展进程中,传承有序、衍变出新,与地域民俗相依相成,成为富于典型意义的“民俗文化形象载体”。当地的剪纸艺人把他们的所见所闻和他们的生活感受用剪刀融入他们的作品中。剪纸题材上有表现民间生活、劳动的;有表现各种戏曲情节、戏曲人物的;也有表现各种皮影人的;表现十二生肖动物的,有着不同的特色。
