枳壳和其他常用的各种砧木,置于16小时(正常日照+暗周期用白炽灯照射4小时)的长日照、12小时±1小时10分钟的正常日照和8小时的短日照等光照期下处理结果,可分为两大类,一类对长日照有反应,一类没有反应。第一类砧木Christianson,Beneke,pome—roy,Rubidoux和Yamaguchi等枳壳栽培品种;Carrizo和Savage枳橙[P.trifoliata×C.sinensis(L.)Osbeck.];Sacaton citrumelo[P.trifoliata×C.Paradisi macf.]夏威夷甜橙(C.sinensis)和Milain柠檬(C.jambhiri Lush.)等,在新梢生长和茎粗方面,有很强烈的反应。对光照期反应较小的砧木包括:Cleopatra柑桔(C.reshi Hort.ex Tan.),Estes柠檬(C.jambhiri),Troyer枳橙、Swingle citrumelo,C.macrophylla Webster,C.taiwanica Tan.和Shin,以及C.Volkameriana Pasq.等。据观察第二类砧木更能适应热带条件,因为它们在短日照条件下生长得更好。
