东山农庄位于湘乡涟水东岸,全庄共有稻田12.450亩。1957年秋季播种绿肥草子(紫云英)9,000亩(其中留种草子占3,000亩).经过庄员们去冬今春的积极加工培育,在耕翻时,通过多点验收和测产的结果:全庄总产绿肥鲜草79,700,510斤。平均每亩产8,878斤.在最好的草子中,平均亩产2万斤以上的有302亩,亩产3万斤以上的有386.5亩。据验收一联队的堆子丘4.03亩田,共产鲜草130,800斤,平均每亩产量达32,450斤。
