灵川、兴安两县相连,境内地势复杂,山峦重叠,沟谷河溪纵横,中部从东北走向西南成较长的凹形河谷地,称为湘桂走廊,白果就分布在湘桂走廊中段的平川、浅丘地带。两县属中亚热带季风气候区,气候温和,雨量充沛,四季分明,是农业气候优越地区。成土母质是沙页岩、石灰岩、花岗岩和第四纪红土。
