岷江是长江的支流之一,也是长江上游水量较大的一条支流.发源于岷山南麓,河源分为东、西两源;东源起于弓杠岭;西源起干郎架岭,汇流于松潘县红桥关后,南经松潘、茂汶至灌县都江堰江口.导岷济沱,分内外两江,纵贯川西平原江口汇合,绕盆地西南边缘,然后南流乐山至宜宾流入长江,全长711公里,流域面积133500平方公里.
