视网膜中央动脉栓塞是一种严重的眼科疾患。常突然发生。若不及时救治,常可造成永久性部份视野缺损,或视力完全丧失。究其原因,不外乎动脉血栓形成及游离血栓栓塞或动脉痉挛。据文献记载,动脉血栓形成及游离血栓栓塞与老年性动脉硬化,动脉内膜炎和心脏手术有关。导致动脉痉挛的因索则可见于高烧、中毒(酒精、烟草、奎宁)子痫等类疾患,亦有在上颌窦冲洗,阴道冲洗,全麻后发生者。
