The relationship between the thoracic duct neck and its surrounding structures was observed on 33 adult cadavers and the related issues of surgery were discussed. Left venous angle in the upper edge of the clavicle, the next average 5mm range, covered by the sternocleidomastoid muscle, 13.4 ± 5.5mm from the trailing edge. The highest point of the thoracic duct arch was 17.7 ± 8.1 mm from the upper edge of the clavicle. It is recommended to expose the thoracic duct from the inside of the internal jugular vein at the time of surgery.
