美国学者在山特维克公司的PCBN(即多晶体CBN)刀具上配置储存液态氮的新型冷却系统获得成功使用增设了这种冷却系统的刀具车削氮化硅材料,其切削参数为n=350r/min(主轴转速)、f=0.1mm/r(进给量)、a_p=0.5mm(切深量),使用结果表明有液态氮冷却时,其刀具切削寿命增加十倍,而刀具磨损降低25%。在车削陶瓷工件时,采用液态氮冷却的刀具车削工件长度达160mm时,工件表面粗糙度仍为Ra3.2μm;而不用液态氮冷却的同类刀具车削长度在40mm时,工件表面粗糙度已达到Ra20μm。
US Scholars Achieve Successful Use of New Cooling System for Storage of Liquid Nitrogen on Sandvik PCBN (Polycrystalline CBN) Tooling Silicon nitride-based tools for cutting tools with this cooling system have cutting parameters of n = 350 r / min (spindle speed), f = 0.1mm / r (feed), a_p = 0.5mm (depth of cut), the results show that with liquid nitrogen cooling, the cutting tool life increased by ten times, and tool wear reduced by 25 %. In the turning of ceramic parts, the workpiece surface roughness is still Ra3.2μm when the length of workpiece is up to 160mm with liquid nitrogen cooling cutter, while the surface roughness of the workpiece with the cooling time of 40mm without liquid nitrogen is up to Ra20μm .
