Praziquantel is an effective drug for the treatment of schistosomiasis japonica, so determining the plasma concentration of praziquantel is very useful. The praziquantel in rabbit plasma was extracted with benzene-cyclohexane and then hydrolyzed in alkaline aqueous solution. The hydrolyzed product was reacted with 1-dimethylamino-5-chlorosulfonyl naphthalene and the product was measured by fluorescence spectrophotometry.
