Determination of trace boron in steel has been published a lot of data, and the use of methylene blue extraction colorimetry, high sensitivity, easy to operate. The data were analyzed by phenylarsenic acid separation and methylene blue extraction colorimetric method for the determination of boron in niobium-bearing steels. However, this method was not applicable to steels with a molybdenum content of more than 0.1%. However, the molybdenum content in most niobium steels is more than 0.1%. Therefore, we further tested the conditions for the determination of boron by the precipitation of niobium, tantalum and methylene blue with phenylarsenic acid.
