高等职业教育是高等教育的重要组成部分,是以培养具有一定理论知识和较强实践能力,面向基层、面向生产、面向服务和管理第一线职业岗位的实用型、技能型专门人才为目的职业技术教育,是职业技术教育的高等阶段。高等数学是高等职业教育必不可少的基础课程。一方面它为学生后继课程的学习做好铺垫,另一方面它对学生科学思维的培养和形成具有重要意义。因此,它既是一门重要的公共必修课,又是一门重要的工具课。
