According to the geophysical-physical mathematics concept, various well logging analysis methods established by experimental verification (or approximate treatment) are used in electronic computer processing and interpretation and are a new feature of the development of modern well logging interpretation technology. This article describes an example of using neutron, density, and gamma ray logging data to interpret muddy gas layers. Clay content and gas saturation in the reservoir affect the readings of neutron and density logging porosity. The effect of clay on neutron log porosity is greater than that of density log porosity, whereas the effect of natural gas on neutron log porosity is less than that on density log porosity. The effects of clay and natural gas on neutron log porosity have some offset from each other
