作为文化的核心要素,语言与文化紧密交织在一起,语言是最直接和最重要的文化体现。我们生活在充满了各类动物的大自然中,各民族的人们根据自己的想法和价值观联想动物的文化内涵来表达情感。因此,中西文化系统内约定俗成地产生了大量关于动物的习语、俗语、谚语和成语等表达。本文通过列举美版《甄嬛传》中出现的包含中西语义共性及差异的动物词汇,进一步讨论跨文化视角下翻译动物词汇的方法。
As the core element of culture, language and culture are closely intertwined. Language is the most direct and important cultural expression. We live in nature full of all kinds of animals, and people of all ethnic groups express their feelings based on their own thoughts and values of the cultural connotations of animals. Therefore, a large number of expressions of animal idioms, sayings, proverbs and idioms have been produced in the Chinese and Western cultures. This article further discusses the method of translating animal’s vocabulary from a cross-cultural perspective by enumerating the animal terms that contain Chinese and Western semantic commonness and differences that appear in the American version of Zhen Huan Chuan.
