一大旺摩崖石刻造像位于仓山镇倒碑垭村大旺寺(又名大湾寺)内,距仓山镇南约2公里(图一)。山崖呈东北西南向,仓山至谭受乡的公路从山脚下经过,石刻位于山腰上,距公路高差15米。1987年文物普查时中江县文管所发现有7龛摩崖造像,同时要求镇镇府进行妥善管理。2001年当地村民在此修庙挖地基时又发现7龛造像,德阳市考古所与中江县文管所调查后,认为是一处重要的唐代摩崖造像,并于2006年6月公布为德阳市文物保护单位。为了进一步弄清楚造像情况,2006年7月,德阳市考古所请成都考古所专业人员一道共同对该处摩崖造像进行了调查。
A large Mongolian stone carving statues located in Cangshan Zhenwaisiya Village Dawang Temple (aka Dawang Temple), about 2 km south of Cangshan town (Figure 1). Cliff was northeast southwest, Cangshan to Tam Township road from the foot of the mountain, stone is located on the mountainside, 15 meters from the highway elevation. In 1987, during the cultural relic census, Zhongjian County Civil Administration discovered 7 shrines and cliff statues, and demanded that the township government properly manage it. In 2001, local villagers discovered 7 niches statues when digging foundations in this temple. After investigation by Deyang Archeology Institute and Zhongjiang County Wen Guan, they considered it an important cliff statues in the Tang Dynasty and published them as Deyang in June 2006 City cultural relics protection units. In order to further clarify the statues, in July 2006, the Deyang Archeology Institute invited Chengdu Archeology Institute together to conduct an investigation on the cliff statues.
