The 2000 China Qingdao Ocean International Forum, themed on the protection and sustainable use of offshore resources, is the highlight of Qingdao Ocean Festival. The forum culminated in a festival of more than 40 major events and 2 million people. The forum has drawn rich colors and displayed the advantages of Qingdao’s marine resources, marine industries and marine science and technology to the whole country and the world. July 30, the two-day forum, jointly organized by Qingdao Municipal People’s Government and the State Council Development and Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Land and Resources, China Association for Science and Technology, State Oceanic Administration, State Environmental Protection Administration and China Oceanographic Society Qingdao Haitian Hotel was held.
