全国沙棘开发企业联谊会于1995年12月14日在北京成立。全国沙棘开发企业联谊会是根据水利部钮茂生部长的倡导,在全国沙棘企业界的强烈要求下成立的。第一批创始会员27家企业,分别来自北京、辽宁、陕西等近10个省市的水利、卫生、农业、科委、煤炭、化工、内贸、军工、合资、地方等不同部门和所有制,是我国沙棘10年开发所形成的一批骨干企业,这些企业的产值占全国沙棘开发企业生产总值的80％左右。全国沙棘开发企业联谊会的宗旨是:团结起来,维护沙棘行业的利益,沟通联系,切磋技艺,互通信息,组织协调,自我服务,自我推进,提高效益。
