In January 2013, Jody Sherman, the 47-year-old founder of Ecomom, an e-commerce Web site in the United States, ended his life earlier in the day, when Ilya Zhitomirshiy, a 22-year-old co-founder of social networking site Diaspora, chose suicide. This raises discussions in the United States about entrepreneurs and mental health. Among them, New York journalist Jessica Bruder has made an in-depth report on the topic called “the psychological cost of entrepreneurship.” The story writes about the experience of an entrepreneur named Bradley Smith. Smith, CEO of a financial services company, looks very successful on the surface, but five years ago he was financially on the verge of bankruptcy and was on the verge of collapse.
