马志文从上海浦东走出,从小喜爱绘画,也喜爱集体活动。1959年马志文考取了上海美术专科学校。1962年,三年的学习期满,马志文到上海戏剧学院舞美专修班深造,从此走上了戏剧艺术之路。还在上戏学习期间,马志文就觉得学院的绘画与一般的美术专科学校不同,被他称作“上戏画风”。这种绘画风格在全国可称独一无二,而马志文就是其中的佼佼者。从上世纪末起,马志文进一步强化了“上戏画风”的平面化趋势,推出了他的彩墨画,中国画式的墨线,成为他造型的主要手段,画面的装饰性也大大加强。给人一种特殊的美感和韵味,马志文完成了他创作生涯的一次飞跃。但对于他来说,这还是刚刚起步,他的创作风格还没有定型。我们正期待着他的下一次起跑、另一次飞跃。
