荒漠化是涉及人类生存质量和生存空间的首要问题，在历史发展的进程中，人们从对自然的崇奉、破坏、掠夺到与自然和谐协调、共同发展是人类认识史上质的飞跃。我国荒漠化所占的比例是世界平均水平的７．３倍，主要分布在中西部欠发达地区，地处边疆和少数民族地区，历史经验告诉我们：走可持续发展的道路是我国２１世纪防治荒漠化的必然选择，也是唯一的选择。
Desertification is the most important issue concerning the quality of life and living space for human beings. In the course of historical development, from the worship, destruction and predation of nature to the harmonious and coordinated development with nature, the common development of people is a qualitative leap in the history of human knowledge. The proportion of desertification in our country is 7.3 times that of the world average, mainly in underdeveloped areas in the central and western regions and in border areas and ethnic minority areas. Historical experience tells us that taking the path of sustainable development is the key to combating desertification in our country in the 21st century The inevitable choice is the only choice.
