本文对专门用途英语的界定与定位进行了再思考,阐述了专门用途英语存在的背景及必要性,讨论了专门用途英语课程的建设和教师的培养。专门用途英语体现了大学英语应用性的特征,是培养学生用英语进行专业学习和学术交流的重要途径。高校应当因地制宜,根据学生的水平和需求,构建大学英语课程体系,促进大学英语教学内容的更新。
This paper re-examines the definition and orientation of ESP, explains the background and necessity of ESP and discusses the construction of ESP and teacher training. English for Specific Purposes embodies the characteristics of college English applicability and is an important way to train students to use English for professional learning and academic exchanges. Colleges and universities should be based on local conditions, according to the level and needs of students, to build college English curriculum system to promote the updating of college English teaching content.
