我省內陆鹽漬土地帶常挾杂有小片鹽斑和碱斑,其中碱斑在改良时相当困难,很难采用冲洗办法脫碱。此种碱斑的存在,既不便于同沒有碱斑的地采用同样耕作,同时也影响着單位面积的产量。除碱斑外,省內也还有一些面积較大的碱荒。这些碱斑和碱荒都需要进行改良。中国科学院海洋研究所,在青島棧桥附近海泥中,分离出多种硫桿菌,其中氧化硫桿菌(Thiobacillus thiooxicdans)能氧化硫黄,产酸力很强。我們双方合作用它来試改碱土。选定曹县青堌集为試点,在当地乡党委書記領导下进行了田間試驗。选定的地块是当地白馬張楼碱
