The Schmidsippl section is located in a typical area of the Gosau Group in the Northern calcareous Alpine tectonic belt of Austria. The exposed Bibereck Formation records the seawater depth of a transgressive and sedimentary area. Below the Bibereck Formation is the Santonian Late Hochmoos Formation (Sandkalkbank segment), which is dominated by sandy, silty-gray, bioturbated tectonic marls with small amounts of bivalve fragments. Above the Hochmoos Formation are gray marl and marl limestone. The lower part of the Bibereck Formation shows a deepening transition to the near-foreland-distal transitional zone; upward, the marl indicates fine-grained argillaceous sediments with a water depth of approximately 50-150 m; muds with planktonic foraminifera exceeding 90% Gray limestone, representing a semi-deep sea sedimentary environment. Biostratigraphic data show that the sampling horizon is entirely located in the planktonic foraminifera asymetrica elevata zone, defined by the co-appearance of Globotruncanita elevata and Dicarinellaasymetrica. The appearance of calcareous fossil Calculites obscurus, Lucianorhabdus cayeuxii, Arkhangelsk iella cymbiformis is indicative of the calcareous fossil zone CC17b / UC12, corresponding to the initial Campanian. The Ca / Al ratio and Catot content in the depth profile of the stratigraphic shows that Ca in seawater is nearly zero in the 0-5 m strata and rapidly increases upward; (Fe / Al) / carbonate shows two peaks, representing more reduction Conditions are located at 4 m and 10 m respectively; the decrease of K / Al ratio is interpreted as a more humid climatic condition; the increase of Ba content in the upper part of the profile shows a change towards lower original production conditions; and the terrigenous minerals remain stable below 7 m , Continuing down until the top of the profile.
