Twenty years ago, Beijing artist Wang Gongxin returned to China after ten years in Williamsburg, bringing back his new ideas for new media and video art creation. The first work he did when he returned was to dig a hole in the floor of his alley, put up a pole and play “Brooklyn’s Sky” (1994) with a monitor placed on top of the pole, Of the audience seem to feel across the globe glimpse into the other side of the world.
