龙舌兰极具阳刚之美,特别是近年从国外引进的新品种,更是形态优雅,风采非凡。泷之白丝便是其中不可多得的美叶珍品。原产墨西哥的泷之白丝(Agave schidigera)形态飘逸、潇洒、坚毅、亮丽,受到多浆花卉界资深人士的高度赞赏。因此,2003年在北京举办的“首届国际仙人掌与多肉植物展览”会上,厦门植物园参展的一盆泷之白丝荣获大会金奖。和绝大多数龙舌兰一样,泷之白丝毕生只开一次花,花谢,就意味着生命的终结,所以有性繁殖的机会较少,主要靠无性繁殖获取小苗。但是,泷之白丝宛若高傲的“单身贵族”,终生单株独生,很难蘖生腋芽;若采用叶插繁殖,也常常因不能生根萌芽而失败。据笔者观察发现,龙舌兰科植物和仙人
