在我省人民奋力抗洪救灾的关键时刻,江泽民总书记同国务院副总理田纪云、中央书记处候补书记温家宝等领导同志,于7月7日至8日专程来我省沿淮重灾区视察,慰问灾民,对抗洪救灾斗争作了许多重要指示。6月中旬,在我省遭受第二次暴雨袭击的时候,李鹏总理冒雨视察我省灾区,亲自指导抗洪斗争。江总书记和田纪云副总理打来电话,对我省的灾情表示关切的慰问,对抗灾斗争作了重要指示。解放军三总部代表中央军委发来慰问电,调来救灾款物,国家有关部门也给予我们很大支持。这对我们是巨大的鼓舞,也是我们在前一段抗洪救灾斗争中能够与灾害进行顽强斗争
