In the 11th Five-Year Plan of the Soviet Union, the level of coal mine tunneling technology and equipment greatly increased. The total number of roadheaders increased by 11%. As of January 1, 1984, a total of 2074 units were installed. Loaders increased by 19% (5,094 units) 12% (1319 units). Among them, the most effective ΓΠΚC light roadheader increased from 50.9% of the total number to 59.1%, while the medium-sized 4ΠΠ-2 roadheader increased from 8.3% to 11.5%.
