“金石录”是一部金石档案集。作者赵明诚,生于公元一零八一年(宋神宗元丰四年),是我国历史上著名的金石档案收集家。赵明诚自小就对金石档案有着浓厚兴趣,曾多次到各地去访求金石刻词。他决不是把古物作为消闲的东西,而是把它作为档案史料来收集的。他认为古代的金石文字比某些历史记载更趋真实可靠,以金石考证某些史料,常常是不一致的,他的论断是:“盖史牒出于后人之手,不能无失:而刻词当时所立。可信不疑。”他对金石文字在史料上所起的作用,的确给了相当高的估价,认
