2002年4月,常德师范学院的新网正式投入使用,经过半年的运行,扩建后的网络已经得到了学校师生的一致肯定。学院网络中心主任罗烈雷教授说:“从最初的CB7000、CB9000到今天的Switch 4007、SuperStack 3 Switch 4400/4300,3Com产品在具有稳定性和可靠性的同时,具有十分突出的性能价格比优势。3Com的设备提高了我们网络的品质,同时增强了学校的竞争力。”常德师范学院建校于1999年3月,是经国家教育部批准成立的一所本科院校。全院已经实现了计算机管理,并已经接通互联网和中国教育科技网,建有教育电台、电视台和闭路电视教学系统。
