想象在人类生活中起着重要的作用。科学家的假设,设计师的设计,画家的绘画创作,作家的人物塑造,工人的技术革新,都需要丰富的想象。人们离开了想象,就不会有什么预见和发明。想象在教学中的作用,在于帮助学生理解教学内容,创造性地运用所学的知识。什么是想象呢?想象是人们在客观事物的影响下,大脑对记忆的表象进行加工改造,形成和创造新形象的心理过程。人们在认识客观世界的过程中,不仅能感知到直接作用于感觉器官,回忆起曾经感知过的事物,而且能在思维的参与下,加工改造脑子里积累的表象和知识经验,创造出从未经历过的或现实中尚未存在的,甚至根本不可能存在的新事物的形象。
