《戏剧春秋》是上世纪四十年代以理论为主兼及创作的大型戏剧刊物。虽然只发表二十多个剧作,但无论在取材的广度、反映现实生活的深度还是艺术质量上都是值得肯定的,它刊载的独幕剧、改革的旧剧和历史剧一定程度上代表了抗战中期国统区戏剧创作的实绩。从刊发的剧作中也很清晰地反映了当时国统区戏剧由独幕剧到多幕剧、由抗战宣传到对现实突进、由现实的反思到历史借鉴的发展变化轨迹。
